The LabkoWin remote control and automation system

The LabkoWin remote control and automation system has been designed for municipal water utilities.

The system consists of a control centre and several remote stations.

The control centre runs on Wonderware InTouch software which we have been developing under the LabkoWin brand since the early 1990s.

The control centre comprises a PC configured for monitoring purposes, various software applications (for operating the system, for reporting and for monitoring alarms), alarm and report printers, and alarm relay equipment.

The control centre can be complemented with a number of secondary control centres using different technologies. On-call staff also benefit from a handy Pocket PC interface.

The remote stations in a LabkoWin system often comprise programming logic, telecommunications devices and measuring technology.

The remote station logic is chosen from three different product families depending on the scope of the application and the number of interfaces. The logic programs are modular, and they can also easily be subsequently extended.

The remote stations mostly interface to a radio network although GSM-based interfacing is used in some applications. Radio transmission is based on Finnish Satel modems and Completech aerials.
